Reflection

I ask not for the world to change but for me to change my needs. I ask for temperance, understanding, and compassion. To understand that we are all here to work as one, and that things that happen are neither good nor bad but simply the way things ought to be at all times. Let me not ask for more of life, I would like to be satisfied as I am right now. Allow me to understand the difference between what is necessary, what is luxury, and when to let go of the latter. Make me patient, temper my ambition, and humble me so that I may at all times carry a stout meek heart. Let me not fear poverty, in fact let me welcome it as a friend I have known so well for so long. And more than anything else, allow me the reason, the presence of mind to discern between what is and is not according to our nature.
